They help make the product more enjoyable to use and can also cover up the natural odour of ingredients such as wax or oils. Flavors can come from natural sources, like fruit extracts or essential oils, or be artificially made to create consistent scents and tastes such as vanilla, mint, or strawberry. They are safe for use on the lips and are usually listed on the product label as “flavour” or “aroma.”
